Pressure Controlled Ventilation | Pressure Controlled: PC In pressure control the ventilator will deliver a breath until the set pressure is achieved. The breath starts at a high flow rate moving gas into the lungs quickly. Pressure is held in the lungs over the entire inspiratory time increasing gas distribution, especially in obese and insufflated patients. PCis helpful in making sure that the lungs are inflated as evenly as possible. This allows for better (more evenly distributed) flow of gas to the lungs. In PC mode, the tidal volume delivered is based on how much volume can be delivered before the set pressure is achieved.
